Balloon in a box and Balloon Bunch / Bouquet deliveries

Please ensure you read our Terms and Conditions of sale before placing your order with Ashby Balloons as by placing an order with us you are confirming your acceptance of our Terms and Conditions as detailed below:

The term "Ashby Balloons" or “us” or “we” or "Seller" or "our" refers to the owner of the website whose registered office is The Old Barn, 7 Moor Lane, Coleorton, Leicestershire, LE67 8FP.  The term “you” or "Buyer" refers to the user or viewer of our website.

Order Acceptance There shall be no binding contract between the Seller and Buyer until the Buyer’s order has been accepted by the seller.  Orders for deliveries are to be placed by telephone to 0780 1060658 so that all the required details can be taken for the order and payment received.  Local delivery orders for same day need to be placed with associated cleared payment and agreed by Ashby Balloons by 2.00pm on the day of delivery.  Orders for Royal Mail Special Delivery Next Day by 1.00pm service need to be placed with associated cleared payment and agreed by Ashby Balloons by 3.30pm the day before delivery is required.  Please note that at present the Royal Mail Special Delivery service only operates for deliveries Monday to Saturday – not Sunday.  

Transfer of Property - Property in the goods shall remain with Ashby Balloons until we have received payment in full of the price and all sums due under the order/s.

Payment methods The preferred method is by credit/debit card taken over telephone - it's easy and secure.  Payment can also be made cash at Ashby Balloons address in advance of delivery or by a cheque supported with a guarantee card.   Please bear in mind that goods must be paid for in full and funds cleared before dispatch is made.

Order Cancellation - Orders may be cancelled up to 48 hours before the intended delivery date, subject to a 10% administration charge.   No refund will be given for orders cancelled within 48 hours of the intended delivery date. We will make every effort to stop such a delivery taking place, but offer no guarantee.

Delivery and Handling

Delivery Address - The customer is responsible for providing a correct and accurate delivery address and Ashby Balloons accepts no liability for non-delivery if the address details provided are incorrect.

Unfortunately, goods are only delivered to UK addresses by Ashby Balloons due to the restrictions placed on helium balloons from the Royal Mail.

Delivery is from one of the following methods:

·          Personal Collection by the buyer from Ashby Balloons address below by PRIOR APPOINTMENT  – FREE of Charge

Monday to Saturday Deliveries

·          Hand delivery within Local Delivery area Zone 1(red) – see separate map on website for area - Same day or Next Day Monday to Saturday by Ashby Balloons – £1.99 (We do not charge a premium for same day delivery).  A signature will be requested from the recipient for Ashby Balloons records Purposes – please ensure that there will be someone to take delivery at the given delivery address at the time of booking – we can deliver to residential and business / commercial addresses.

·          Hand delivery within Local Delivery area Zone 2 (Blue) – see separate map on website for area - Same day or Next Day Monday to Saturday by Ashby Balloons – £3.99 (We do not charge a premium for same day delivery).  A signature will be requested from the recipient for Ashby Balloons records Purposes – please ensure that there will be someone to take delivery at the given delivery address at the time of booking – we can deliver to residential and business / commercial addresses.

·          Hand delivery within Local Delivery area Zone 3 (Black) – see separate map on website for area - Same day or Next Day Monday to Saturday by Ashby Balloons – £5.99 (We do not charge a premium for same day delivery).  A signature will be requested from the recipient for Ashby Balloons records Purposes – please ensure that there will be someone to take delivery at the given delivery address at the time of booking – we can deliver to residential and business / commercial addresses.

Sunday Deliveries

·          Hand delivery within local Delivery area zone 1 (Red) - see separate map on website for area - Same day or Next Day Sunday £4.99 (We do not charge a premium for same day delivery).  A signature will be requested from the recipient for Ashby Balloons records Purposes – please ensure that there will be someone to take delivery at the given delivery address at the time of booking – we can deliver to residential and business / commercial addresses.

·          Hand delivery within local Delivery area zone 2 (Blue)- see separate map on website for area - Same day or Next Day Sunday  £6.99 (We do not charge a premium for same day delivery).  A signature will be requested from the recipient for Ashby Balloons records Purposes – please ensure that there will be someone to take delivery at the given delivery address at the time of booking – we can deliver to residential and business / commercial addresses.

·          Hand delivery within local Delivery area zone 3 (Black)- see separate map on website for area - Same day or Next Day Sunday  £8.99 (We do not charge a premium for same day delivery).  A signature will be requested from the recipient for Ashby Balloons records Purposes – please ensure that there will be someone to take delivery at the given delivery address at the time of booking – we can deliver to residential and business / commercial addresses.

Please note: timed deliveries are not generally available, but if you have a specific delivery time please advise at time of booking to see if anything can be arranged.

The zones are an indication only - Ashby Balloons will quote which zone delivery will be in if a delivery address is borderline between zones.

Next day Balloon in a Box packages are delivered by Royal Mail Special Delivery Service for signed for delivery guaranteed by 1.00pm and are subject to Royal Mail’s terms and conditions.   Orders must be placed with Ashby Balloons  and paid for by 3.00pm the day prior to delivery.  Please note that unfortunately at present Royal Mail Special Delivery does not offer a Sunday Delivery Service.

Next day National delivery is subject to the order being placed and paid for by 3pm. We use Royal Mail Special Delivery for signed for delivery guaranteed by 1pm. Note delivery times to the Scottish highlands & islands, and some of the Channel Islands are longer. All deliveries will require a signature. Where Royal Mail (or our couriers) have attempted a delivery and no-one is present at the delivery address to sign for the package, a card will be left notifying of the delivery attempt. 

Substitution – Due to seasonality of the balloons, we reserve the right to substitute your balloon with a similar choice if your chosen balloon is out of stock as stock is ordered on a just in time basis.  Where time allows before dispatch, we will contact you to give you the option of cancelling the order or accepting the substituted goods.

Quality Guarantee Helium Balloons – All our balloons are guaranteed to be of the highest quality. After 3 to 5 days the 18” helium balloon will slowly start to deflate and this is quite normal.  All balloons are inflated shortly before dispatch and sent perfectly inflated. However, helium is sensitive to extreme temperature changes and if the balloons were to be stored in cold temperature while in transit from Royal Mail they might appear deflated upon delivery. The problem can be resolved by putting the balloon somewhere warm - which will cause the helium to expand and the balloon to look inflated again as the helium expands.

Delivery Responsibility – For Royal Mail Special Delivery, once the delivery has been signed for at the given address it is no longer the responsibility of Ashby Balloons. Refunds cannot be given if the balloon is not passed on to the named recipient.

Non Delivery - If for any reason Ashby Balloons is unable to fulfil its delivery promise a full refund will be given.   Ashby Balloons cannot be held liable for any consequences or costs further than that of the full amount paid for the balloon in a box or balloon bouquet.

Refund Claims - For balloons that are delivered damaged must be reported within seven days of delivery date and any damaged balloons need to be returned to Ashby Balloons at the address below.   No refunds can be offered for deliveries which are delayed beyond our immediate control.  Should the product arrive in a damaged condition or be lost, we will either refund your full payment or dispatch another greeting or gift to the same value.   All refunds are given at our discretion and each case will be looked at individually.

Evidence of these circumstances will always be required by us and Royal Mail. We cannot be held responsible for late delivery by Royal Mail due to local holiday, adverse weather conditions which may hinder transportation of goods, industrial action of postal workers and other incidents which are beyond our immediate control.   In such instances, we may only on occasion, be able to offer a refund of the postage incurred for delivery of your goods.

Nothing contained within these above terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Tax Charges – Currently Ashby Balloons is VAT exempt so no VAT is charged in the purchase price.

Helium Responsibilities - Ashby Balloons are a professional company promoting safe practices.  Warning:  Never under any circumstances inhale or allow anyone to inhale helium.   In high concentration helium is an asphyxiant and can kill.   Helium is the gas that raises the pitch of your voice.   Ashby Balloons accepts no responsibility for death or injury howsoever caused by the misuse of helium.

 Terms and Conditions

Balloon Dιcor Service

Separate Terms and Conditions apply for Balloon dιcor work as below:

Deposit - A non-returnable deposit of 50% of the total amount is payable at the time of booking.  The balance invoice will be sent to out 28 days prior to the date of the function for which the balloons are required.  This must be paid in full not less than 14 days prior to the function.  Please check your invoice carefully to ensure that everything you have ordered is shown, as the invoice will form our checklist when we are decorating your function.  Please inform us of any mistakes immediately – 0780 1060 658 or email info@ashbyballoons.co.uk.  Alternatively, you may choose to pay all of the amount at the time of booking.  Payment of deposit means that all terms and conditions listed below have been accepted even if the required signed form is not returned to Ashby Balloons.

VAT - Currently Ashby Balloons is VAT exempt so no VAT is charged in the purchase price of goods ordered.

Payment - can be made by debit/credit card over the telephone, cash, bank transfer to account number 05695023 sort code 72 – 00 – 00 (Alliance & Leicester) or cheque supported with a valid cheque guarantee card made payable to parent company “Printed Ribbon UK”.  Balloons will not be installed at the function or released for collection if payment has not been received by the due date.

Alterations  - to the original order can be made up to 28 days prior to the function at which time the final invoice will be prepared and the materials ordered from our suppliers.  Any alterations made after this time will be subject to an additional charge.

It is essential that the telephone number of the venue keyholder be supplied to us so that we may arrange a time to construct your decorations.  Balloon decorating is a very time-consuming job and is usually done on the day of the function – so access to the venue needs to be early.  We cannot be held responsible for any problems which may arise from our not being able to gain access to the venue at a time suitable to us.

Marketing Ashby Balloons - On the underside of each balloon weight box/bow a discreet Ashby Balloons promotional label will be placed.

Substitution - Ashby Balloons strives to get the products agreed for your order, but should a situation arise where anything is not available from our suppliers, Ashby Balloons reserves the right to substitute with a product of equal or higher value.

The contract is binding on both parties unless amended by mutual consent.

Balance refunds cannot be made on functions cancelled less than one month before the event.  Suitable insurance should be taken to cover this eventuality.

Tear down / removal of balloons - The customer will agree to ensure that all the balloons are removed from the venue at the end of the function or will make suitable arrangements with the venue themselves for this. 

Nothing contained within these above terms – delivery and dιcor - affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Delivery Charges - Charges for balloon decor vary depending on delivery location and number of balloons required.  Some balloon deliveries will be free of charge and others will be subject to a mileage charge.  Please Contact Us to discuss your individual requirements.
